It's all about scouting here in Sunol these days.
Our Junior Girl Scouts, Troop #2921, attended Junior Jamboree
the weekend of November 14th - 16th at Camp Bothin in Fairfax.
Although one of the largest troops in attendance, the girls
enjoyed the company of approximately 135 girls from 15 others
troops from the Crossroads Association. The weekend activities
also allowed the girls the opportunity to earn 4 new badges;
sports sampler, environmental health, on my way and being my
best. Attendees were: Caitlin Carter, Jessica Christian, Danika
Beard, Hayley Nielsen, Mary Chambers, Becca Brown, Bola Gbadebo,
Stasia Hylas, Alexis Hylas, Athena Eberle, Emily Madden, Madison
Craig and Leader Lori Nielsen and Assistant Leader Helen Eberle.
It should be notes that Lori Nielsen said that upon completion
of all the required leadership training "we were happy
to include Helen as our new Assistant Leader". Helen has
been a very helpful parent volunteer and attends all the girl
scout meetings and events. Co-Leader Victoria Barnes and daughter
Nicola were unable to attend the event due to Nicola's participation
in a soccer tournament the very same weekend.
Remember those little white plastic bags you found hanging
on your mailbox or doorstep a few weeks ago? That was the work
of Sunol's Cub Pack #912 with the help of a few Boy Scouts from
Troop #912 also. We were asked to fill those little bags to
contribute to their food drive "Scouts for Food" And
on November 15th, the Boy Scouts, which included Adam Foster,
Anthony Bedegi, Michael Avalos, Brian Pellissier, Charles Garvin,
Murray Foster, Nick Sarracco, Alton Richardson and Liam Hazelton
and with the help of parents volunteers Maria and Shaun Edwards,
collected 285 items from this little town, which I must say
is quite an accomplishment . Shaun would like you to know that
he "appreciates all the items that were donated because
we know they are going to a worthy cause".
Catch this weekends live entertainment at Bosco's Bones &
Brew, playing from 8:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m. both Friday and Saturday
night is a band called "A.K.A."
