For an absolutely culinary delight, Elliston Vineyards is taking reservations for their Holiday Wine Taster Dinners on December 9 and December 16 at 6:30 p.m. Sparkling wine and hors d' oeuvres will be served in the Mansion then it's off to the Terrace Room for a four-star, four-course meal. I have attended several of Elliston Vineyards Wine Taster Dinners and I highly recommend the experience. Elliston Vineyards is also hosting a buffet luncheon on December 9 from noon to 3:00 p.m. For reservations please call 925-862-2377.

There is a new group of scouts eager to join the ranks at Sunol Glen School and these new Brownie's will be the schools fourth girl scout troop. Pretty impressive I must say for a school of less than 200 students. Brownie Troop #2348 Co-leaders Monica Hobbs and Lisa Olson are just as excited to be a part of the scouting family in Sunol and have planned a few holiday functions for these girls. Their first appearance in town will be caroling at the Sunol Christmas Tree Lighting on December 3, then they will be earning their community service badge by serving refreshments at the Ruby Hill's Home tour, which benefits the Valley Children's Museum. They have also planned a fun event for the girls and are taking them to see the play, The Velveteen Rabbit. They also already earned their first badge, the technology badge, when they visited the San Jose Tech Museum.

This new Brownie troop of second graders includes, Madison Hobbs, Abigail Olson, Maia Samboy, Hannah Schwartz, Jordan Stewart, Camryn Lipman, Annabelle Bentley, Lily Sullins, Katherine Hartkopf and Jade Fields.

Don't Forget: Sunol's Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony and Holiday Train ride will be held on December 3. At 4:30 p.m., join your neighbors and friends for a brisk train ride through Niles Canyon. Then when the train arrives back at the Sunol Depot head over to the Sunol Community Park for some steaming hot beverages and baked goodies and watch the towns beautifully decorated Christmas tree light up the sky. The Sunol 4-H is providing the beverages and would like members of the community to bring a plate of cookies or brownies to share. Another popular annual tradition during the festivities is the raffle drawing for a fully decorated Christmas tree provided by Sunol Glen School's eighth grade class. Each year the class raffles off the tree as a fundraiser for their annual Washington D.C field trip which takes place during spring break. And if you are in a hurry and don't have time to even think about cooking dinner, the students will also be serving tri-tip sandwiches at the Community Park before the train ride.

Now this sounds like a fun way to spend the afternoon. Color Me Mine, a ceramics studio in Fremont, is holding a fundraiser for Sunol Glen School on December 3rd and December 4th. The studio will donate 20% of all proceeds from the weekend to the school. Color Me Mine is located at 43301 Mission Blvd.

Another first for Bosco's Bones and Brew, they will be serving a traditional Thanksgiving turkey dinner on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Please call 925-862-0821 to make your dinner reservation.
