One cannot miss that big white wooden pig sign that sits at the three way stop on Highway 84 and it only means one thing, the Sunol 4-H Annual Pancake Breakfast. Held on May 6th from 8:00 a.m. to noon in the Sunol Glen School cafeteria, it is the Sunol 4-H’s only fundraiser for the year.

So come on out and support our 4-H because those kids work really hard that day and I know because I remember wearing those bright white uniforms, green scarf and green felt hat many, many years ago.

There will also be raffle prizes, silent auction, bake sale and plant sale during the breakfast, which includes eggs and sausage too, for only $6.00 or adults and $4.00 for children.

For more information or to purchase tickets in advance, please call 925-862-9040.

After filling up on the delicious pancake breakfast, take a stroll down Main Street for an informal multi-family street sale and if you are looking to sell your slightly used items, space is still available for Sunol residents only. For more information or to reserve a space, please call Tom Harland 925-862-2915.

Foothill High School recently held their annual Art Festival. Art work from Foothill High students were on display in the "student gallery” and there were two students from Sunol presented with awards on April 1st. A representative from the Pleasanton City Council as well as a representative from State Senator Ellen Corbett's office presented awards to the first, second and third place finishers in several different categories of art.

Senior Julia Johnson was awarded first place for one of her many beautiful pottery pieces and freshman Hayley Nielsen was awarded third place for one of her black and white photographs.
Also on hand to help present awards were photography instructor Valerie Rossman and art instructor Nancy Scotto.

More Sunol Glen School News—The Sunol Community Club has been very successful in promoting their Spring Pledge Drive and have collected a total of $28,565. Their goal was to raise enough funds to cover the cost of new ST Mind Institute software, which cost $30,000. So that’s right, they are short a mere $1,435 and are still accepting donations. Please contact Sunol Glen School at 925-862-2026 if you would like to contribute.
